Hi,
I feel that there is an easy answer to this problem, but I can’t think what it is.
I have just brought a Sony vaio PCG-3192(a very tidy laptop!!),but it has no internal CD-rom or floppy. The previous owner has installed a copy of win2K for an IBM notebook and now the machine wont recognise cd-rom(pcmcia) so i am unable to install any new OS!!
i have tried to update drivers for cd-rom from but to no avail. the floppy is recognised during BIOS boot but not when OS has loaded. does any1 have any suggestions as to how i can get a new OS on?!?
many thanks Wilber

Get a harddrive adapter, pull the hdd and install the system on a desktop. Not XP or 2000, they don't allow changing hdd's around. You can install win98, put the hdd back into your computer, and upgrade the OS if you want.
