problem with SONY Clie

I need help. I have a SONY Clie and I am trying to get ACT 6.0 to synch with it. I have ACT Link 2.0 installed but when I go to synch ACT with the Palm, I get the following message:

The selected port, COM1, is not available at this time. HotSync Manager will open the port when it becomes available.

However, the only cable that came with (and this is the one I am using) is USB. Everything else synchs fine, but ACT will not.
