hi everybody, i don´t know if there is a problem between windows XP pro, and red hat 8.0 samba, because i have a network and three of my 5 users use XP, and they have problems every time they want to access the shared folders on the linux server, it takes like 5 minutes to them to see the contents or access that folder,, or gets an error msg like End Task, because it didn´t respond, (i know there is a problem with XP when searching through network but it isn´t all day at everytime), obviusly it is not the network because the other 2 users have win Me and win 200 Pro and they don´t have this problem, does anybody have had this problem before??
hope somebody can help me
thanks

Are you using a DHCP server or an static IP address?.
I had that problem and it was solved changing my server's network card.
You should use static ip address to avoid problems with the ip address created by windows.

You'll have to specify your network configuration and samba set up a little more. Many samba / xp browsing problems are due to the fact that they both tend to try to take over browse master responsibilities.
