I am having a problem running MQSeries v5.1 on HPUX11.

I have installed the product and set up the necessary default queue manager. All works fine and then I start experiencing problems with runmqsc:

When I try to run runmqsc I get the following error

[AMQ9508 Program cannot connect to queue manager]

runmqsc will then work on and off for the next hour and then stop completely until I stop and restart MQSeries.

Has anyone run into similar problems and know how to fix it.

Cheers

Stephen

Both /var/mqm and /opt/mqm/bin are owned by the mqm user and group and have the necessary permissions set. We copied them from an existing system we have running MQSeries which is running an identical load without any problems

Turned out to be a "thread leakage" problem whereby each time MQ was called a UNIX thread was activated but not released upon completion. This meant the thread count continued until it reached the value of the MAX_THREAD_COUNT
the runmqsc would not operate. The problem was solved by installing the latest csd's for MQseries v5.1 for HPUX (provided by IBM).
