Here's my situation. I have a database server (SQL) and a web server. Backup Exec 9.0 resides on the database server. The database server is located in the "inside" section of the network, with all access controlled through a Checkpoint firewall. The web server is in a DMZ, with a public IP, but also behind the same firewall. So in effect, the two servers are in different subnets.
I am trying to back files on the web server up to the tape drive in the DB server, using the Backup Exec Remote Agent. When I create a backup job, I can select the C and D drives and system state of the web server, by making it a "User Defined Selection", but the job fails every time with a communications error with the Remote Agent. After some research I have opened up port 10000 (NDMP), permitting traffic on that port between the servers, but that hasn't helped the problem.
Anybody got any ideas?
