I use Veritas Backup Exec 8.6 for Windows 2000 Server to perform backups across the network. I recently setup a new NetWare 5.1 server (SP5) on which I successfully installed and enabled the Remote Agent for NetWare.
However, when I tried to browse this remote NetWare server through the SMS icon in the backup window, the server is present but the File System or NDS cannot be accessed. It just says None in the right-hand pane.
Originally even the server was not even visible via the SMS icon. I managed to rectify this problem with some research on Veritas's web site when I discovered TechNote ID 246122. I knew this was of direct relevance as the remote NetWare server is only running the TCP/IP protocol because we are migrating to a pure IP environment. I continued me searching to find TechNote ID 236442, but that did not seem to help. And, TechNote ID 246122 is of no use as it refers to IPX.
Has anyone else out there encountered a similar problem, and have any advice on how I can fix it? Thanks in advance.
Cheers,
Simon Osborne
