hi
i just installed an ibm pseries with aix 5.2; 2 ibm HBA 6239 directly attached to a fastt600 turbo but driver rdac doesn't want to load :(
i checked all the PTFs they are all up to date
fcs, fscsi, dac and dar are ok but no rdac :(
disks are seen and usable/ i tried several times to delete all the tree (from hdisks to fcs) and re-run cfgmgr but it tells me that devices.scsi is required and not installed (but it is installed!)
i don't understand what's happening :(
please can you help me find out the solution.?
thanks a lot
kat

hi,
if you run cfgmgr by smit (device,install...after last..) or

smitty cfgmgr

and insert CD1 of AIX or floopy or CD coming with HW
and indicate cd or floppy as sw distribution device,

does anything change ?

Hi,
Thanx for answering, I'll try it as soon as i can reach the server (offsite). I'll let you know if it gets better or not.

here is the message i get when i run the cfgmgr command :
Method error (/etc/methods/cfgnam -l nampd0):
0514-068 Cause not known.
sh: /etc/methods/cfgnam: not found.

cfgmgr: 0514-621 WARNING: The following device packages are required for
device support but are not currently installed.
devices.scsi
