Our Symposium server went down and after rebooting I get event code 41550, SM could not start service NBALH. This has happened over a hundred times in the past hour. Anybody know what to do about it? I have a ticket opened for service but I want to know what causes this.
Thanks in advance for any help.

Are you using ACCESS? That is, do you have either a serial connection to Meridian Mail or an ethernet connection to Call Pilot to provide announcements and other voice services to your callers when they are on hold?

Sandyml,
Yes we have ethernet connections to Call Pilot. The recorded announcements are working OK.

nbalh is the Link Handler process. The Link Handler runs on serial port COM2 and is the process that manages the serial link to a Meridian Mail. If you do not have a serial link to Meridian Mail then this event is not important to you.

you can stop this service on the Control panel > Service > look for MAS Access link.

Thanks ipeology ,
After reading your post I went to make the changes and our warranty provider dialed in and was doing exactly what you mentioned. I appreciate the info. You were right about it not being a big issue, however it created a 4 gig log file that was using up too much space and was causing Symposium to shut down. Thanks again

you mention that there is a log file that's causing the symposium to shut down? what is the name of that file? and where can i find it?

thanks.
