I have used the Output To macro to run a query and show the results in an Excel format and place it into the C: drive with a pre-determined file name. When this macro is run, it does what it is supposed to do except that the file in C: does not show an Excel spreadsheet, when you try and open the file you get the Open As sub form appear and you have to select the Excel option, which does defeat the point of selecting .xls as an option when writing the macro.

Is there anyone who can throw some light on this dilema.

Thanks in advance.

In the macro where you put the path, you have to specify the extention there also.
