I started with the macola ICR & then modified the report design to accept output from a VB routine that selects records for printing to the modified pick ticket report. In the group header, duplicate literal is to be displayed if certain selects are valid in one or more fields in the records selected by VB. Some of my groups should have the literal & others should not. The output is then directed to the crystal viewer, where it can be reviewed before sent to the printer. I am getting different results on whether or not the literal is displayed dependent on the OS I am on when the report is generated. I know there is some other formula that is after reading records or words to that effect, but haven't been able to locate it. Anyone familiar with this formula?

I am using crystal 8.5 developer on a terminal server 2003. My crviewer.dll is 8.5.0.473. TS & one LAN XP client print the message correctly. 1 win2k & 2 XP clients don't print the duplicate message. Pervasive 2000i sp4 w/hot fixes on server, pervasive clients are 2000i w/hot fixes for sp4. I have spent HOURS on the phone w/macola about this to no avail. Anyone who knows crystal formulas better with output from VB, let me know, & I will try to call you for assistance.

What if you run the report on the workstation that does't work from within crystal. Does it work. My thinking a dll that is not registered on some workstation, or a ULF. Something like macolanumbertodate(). The VB just pushs the report past the error ?

I think the DLL you are referencing is CRUMFA.DLL which is the Exact/Macola DLL that supports the Macola Crystal functions (e.g. MacolaNumbertoDate, MacolaFormatAcct). The Macola Client install (ICR) should automatically copy this and register it. This need to be registered and should be found under the Windows\crystal subdirectory. You would need to register it. If you have a problem with MacolaNumbertoDate erroring out this is most likely the problem.

You may want to post the formula logic that suppresses the "Duplicate" message on the group header section.
