We are having some problems with an old GPO. We originally set up an install file \\servername\sharename for Office 2000 Pro. The server has since been retired and the GPO that was listing the msi file was deleted some time ago.

We are having a problem with some of our old machines and now a couple of new ones. We installed Office with the cd but whenever the new user tries to open office, it brings up an installer with the filepath back to the old server msi file. I manually delete it out of the registry and when I reboot it comes back (hence the GPO). I have deleted everything in the GPO that relates to published files. When you look at the properties of the icon while the new user is logged on it shows "Install on first use" If I log onto the computer, it runs fine. I copied the icons over to his desktop and it worked until I logged him off and then back to sqaure one.

I'm about to pull my hair out. I'd be greatful if someone out there has any suggestions.
