Problem with Project 2003

I cannot get my % Work Complete to work correctly. Each main task is not automatically averaging the completions of the sub-tasks. I would attach the file but I cant seem to figure out how to make the attachment field operate.

Summary tasks % work complete will not be the "average" of all of the work. It will be based upon the spread of work across the summary duration. If you have more work in the end of the task spread, then the % work complete will be low at the beginning and rise in the end.

Look at the Task Usage view to see the timescaled spread of work -- does it make more sense?
