I have an MDE that's been distributed for several years now (via the PDW), and never had this issue. Out of several dozen installations, only 1 has this problem.

From a main menu, the user can select a reports menu which pulls up a list of access reports. Normally the user would select a report and hit "print preview" or "print", and as long as there was at least 1 printer defined everything worked fine. This particular user says that when she chooses Print Preview, nothing happens. When she hits Print, the application switches to database view?

I'm baffled. They have Office 2003. I've already worked past the new security with Word & mail merge automation - is there another "improvement" that I'm not aware of?

Thanks in advance.

I've had experiences like this were the solution usually was to upgrade the printer driver.

For a test, is there another printer she can temporarily make her default? If print preview works with the other printer, than you know it has something to do with the original printer (and probably the driver its using).

JoeAtWork,

Sorry it took so long to report back on this issue, but it was indeed the printer driver. The customer was demanding that I fix my application, even though they were the only site among dozens that had this issue.

Once I got past the resistance of the customer, I was able to prove that it was "their" problem and was able to help them fix it. This seems to be a problem with the HP Laserjet 2300 series printers and Access 2003. This thread talks about the issue:
I had the customer download the PS driver and apply it. They were previously using the PCL6 driver. Started working immediately.

Thanks for helping me get pointed in the right direction on this.
