Problem with Outlook attaching .DAT File files

Ok, I know about the winmail.dat problem with outlook.. regarding outlook using rich text.

I have a slightly different problem, I am getting sent to me (I am using lotus notes) the sender is using Outlook... any new mesasge that comes from this person has a .DAT attackment.. the file name is random, for example: attpag5.dat

I already turned off all the rich formating and used plain text... any other ideas?

start be determing is the problem is on your end or their end. Use Outlook to get one of their mails. If you still get a DAT file, they are encoding wrong.
