Maybe some one else has run into this problem - the users are giving me major grief about it.

We are running Metaframe 1.8 and have it set up so our users can access applications via desktops, on which one application is Outlook 98. It almost works perfectly - except for the Action menu where you can Forward, Flag for follow up, Reply, etc - this list is empty of all options.

The same is true when we try to right click on the message - no right click options at all are displayed.

We installed Outlook 98 twice and still the same problem. Any ideas here?

Thanks in advance,
Bob

We also have Metaframe 1.8 and Outlook 98 and I do recall seeing what you're describing - but when I just checked, Outlook on both our servers had a full Action menu. I'll keep my eye on it and post back if I figure out what causes it.

For reference, we're using NT4 TSE SP6, and Metaframe 1.8 SP1 with the Computer Browser hotfix.

Do you use an Exchange Server? We use 5.5 SP3. It may be related to that.

We're using Windows 2000 SP1, TS 5.0 SP1 and Metaframe 1.8 SP3 for Windows 2000, Feature Release 1

Yes, we do use Exchange Server 5.5 SP4 on Windows NT 4 Server SP6

I would like to say that our Outlook running through the desktop set up never shows the action menu items.

Thanks for keeping any eye out for it.

The Exchange Server Extensions Commands Add-In may not be enabled, or may not have been installed. Look under the Add-in Manager in Outlook Adavance Options.

Here are the following options we have installed:

Fax Extensions
Delegate Access
Deleted Item recovery
Exchange Extensions Commands (I assume this is what you speak of)
Exchange Extensions Property Pages
Rules Wizard

The only item displayed but not checked is:

Server Scripting.

One additional note:
I am not sure if the Outlook 98 compatibility script was ever run on Outlook. Could this be the problem? Is there some way to check to see what compatibility scripts have been run? Is there any harm in running these compatibility scripts if they have already been run once?

Thanks again.
