The user has a LAN-STORAGE NAS device, model ET-H3556 attached to his network. It works satisfactorily in most aspects. In XP and Vista, opening a Command Prompt and listing files on the NAS device works fine. Filenames, foldernames, dates, and sizes, etc., all show up ok. However, this doesn't work in Windows 7. Dates and file sizes show, but no foldernames or filenames are shown at all. The area of the Command Prompt screen to the right of the date and filesize columns is completely blank. Foldernames and filenames show up in Windows Explorer, just not in the Command Prompt window.

Is there a way to make the foldernames and filenames show up?

Hi,
Hve you tried the options shown when you do a

DIR /?

It appears that some extra info can be shown.

See if any default options are set in the DIRCMD environment variable that could limit the display.

Good one Tuckbear - the DIR /X did the job. Have a star!
