I see some very talented BCM techs in here.I am hoping someone out may be able to help. I have a serious problem( I consider serious) with a BCM 1000 with 3.6 s/w. Problem is the modem does not answer , so I can't call in remotely... BCM 1000 had the hard drive replaced with a new 3.6 HD. It was not upgraded from an older release. My fear is that possibly the driver on the new HD may match a driver meant to work with a BCM 200 or 400. The alarm table makes mention of a DLL error relevant to a modem. 1st question: Does anyone know where I can get or download the right modem driver for the BCM 1000??? 2nd question: Where in the NT s/w would I load such a driver?? I 've have "telnet" into it and can get to a "command line" if thats possibly where something like this may reside. Does anyone know the VNC "super password" for the 3.6??? I seen someone mention the VNC for the older s/w in another thread?? The modem thing is a big issue. If anyone can help , I'd greatly appreciate it. Thanks HelplessBCM Please email me and post answers to this thread.

i have a complete set of training guides that the trainers use to teach BCM 3.6.. its big so it will need to be FTP'd or posted to you,, they should be able to help you setup the modem correctly..

HelplessBCM and cmawbey.
I have exactly the same problem with an old release 2 Enterprise Edge 1000. The modem has been replaced, the vendor has climbed walls. I have never found an answer either. Please post any answers you find.

cmawbey,
Since we are not supposed to post email addresses I am at a loss as to how to ask you for a copy of your documents.

I am thinking about setting up a small site for address exchange only, no posts,no tech assistance, no emails. If this seems like a good idea and if the moderators allow this post I will give it some work.

i am also a user of PBXinfo.com
why not register there as well it's, another fantastic resource, but they allow Private Messaging...

post the same question in the BCM forum, i will see it

CMAWBEY ,
Unlike NARSBARS I have found that the modem works in a 2.0 BCM 1000. I think maybe our problems are similar in that the modem has not worked at all from day 1. Now I think if I take a working 2.0 hard drive(in a place I know the modem works now) and upgrade to 3.6 I think this could work , but thinking on a computer level , the hard drive is a 3.6 that I bought never specifically saying I needed it for a BCM 1000. Since I'm thinking the HD may have been set up for a BCM 200/400(these have a different type/brand modem) do you think its possible that my HD has the wrong driver loaded on it?? I hope you may agree , but the problem is how do I get the older modem driver into this newer 3.6 enviroment?? Does this have to be done through "VNC"?? Is there a VNC in the 3.6?? If so the password has been changed. What implications am I looking at?? I really would like to fix the problem from the NT side on things on this 3.6 HD without having to go backwards. This would also help NARSBARS too. Any other thoughts or someone out there who may shed some light?/ Thanks HelplessBCM

I will see CMAWBEY at Pbxinfo. I can help with the question on VNC access as I got the information from a Tech-tips posting and have used it several times.
I am sure the original posting (expertly done) is still available by a search here.

is the light on the front for the modem slot green? if it is then the modem is fine. you can't change the driver because the BCM runs embedded NT.

Do you mean the Lan card has a green led?, my moden cards don't have any led's on them, only my Lan Cards do.

Follow up. On my old 1000 Rls 2. The modem worked for two years and died. The modem has been replaced, software patched, and some very good techs are still having bad dreams. I am replacing the unit for other reasons and I will be glad to see it go.
