Problem with messages button 1

We have a 7960G with a sidecar phone configured for our receptionist. The first line on the phone is our receptionists DN. The other lines on the phone and sidecar are for her to monitor our individual extensions. There is also a voicemail account associated with the first line, which we consider to be her voicemail.

However, when she presses her messages button, if she doesnt have any voicemail it takes her to the voicemail box of the first person setup on her phone that does have voice mail.

Is this by design or is there a way to change it?

Wow, this is intriguing. The Messages button takes her to the first mailbox with new messages? That's interesting. Are you using Unity for VM?

What version of CallManager and Unity are you using?

I think there is a setting for Voice Mail use Prime line only under SYSTEM PARMS- Call Manager ?

You are correct wayne67. That was the answer I was looking for.

Under Service, Service Parameters is the following.

Always Use Prime Line for Voice Message : This parameter determines whether the primary line gets chosen and becomes the active line when the Messages button is pressed. Valid values specify True (pressing the Messages button causes the phone to automatically dial the voice-messaging system from the primary line) or False (pressing the Messages button causes the phone to automatically dial the voice-messaging system from a line that has a voice message).
This is a required field.
Default: false.
