Problem with LT WIN MODEM on Windows2000 professional.

I installed Windows2000 professional in my laptop, DELL Inspiron7500. Original OS was Windows98.
Laptop has a buildin modem: LT WIN MODEM. Maximum port speed is set to 57.6
Modem Driver: ltmdmnt.sys, driver version: 5.0.2167.1.
As a result of installation modem speed dropped to 14.4.
Please advise.

You'll need the Dell driver for it, not a generic LT winmodem driver. Cheers,

it seems that upgrading always causes a problem with modem drivers AOL Tech
