I am having a problem with my wife’s laptop computer that is kind of annoying.

My wife is using Juno dialup as her ISP but I don’t think that the problem has anything to do with them I have had this problem on other computers and other ISPs as well.

The problem is that when browsing it will just stop connecting to anything.
The actual connection is still active but any link that you click on comes up as not found.
This is happening quite often right now and is a pain.

If you switch to Internet Explored it is still the same.
The same thing happens if I connect through windows dialer not using the Juno software at all.

The only way to solve this is to disconnect and start over.

In the past when I have had this happen it eventually sorted itself out but I would like to know if anyone has an idea what is happening and if there is a way to rectify it.

Thanks for the help…

Mike

There is nothing you can do about this....it is an ISP problem, probably due to a lack of sufficient hardware to support the high user uptake it has had with its cheap services. In simple terms, there is nothing you can do about it. It is a very common thing with cheap market flooding ISPs.

Hope this Helps.

Actually I have used Juno for at least 8 years with no problem.
I play online games like WOW etc. with fairly good performance.

I think that the problem may be solved.

I installed Mozilla Fire Fox on her computer and have her connect with Windows dialer so that internet explorer doesn’t open and so far I'm not seeing the problem, only time will tell if this is a permanent fix.

PS.

I do think the time has come to connect with Comcast (our only option) I hate to pay the money but now we have two computers and fight over who gets to use the connection. LOL

You can network the two machines, peer to peet, with a single cross over cable, and you can use Windows ICS, however, the host machine always have to be switched on and connected for the other machine to access it. But this does mean that either machine can use the connection.

Hope this Helps.
