Dear all,

Just a quick question for you (well, hopefully!).

I'm currently creating a 'sample' viewer; the 'base' movie has 12 boxes (movies) into which I load various 'sample' movies (using the <moviename>.load(movie) malarkey). (It's kind of a browsing thing - for looking at my other flash movies.) The 'samples' are loaded, repositioned and resized in a single function; first time into the movie I run the function and the movies all load, but completely ignore the resizing / positioning stuff. If I run the function again (without closing down the movie) it works fine and the movies are all reloaded, positioned, etc.

So, anyone who can either (1) tell me whats going on or (2) even understand what I'm trying to explain? (To many uses of the word movie for my likeing!!!)

Thanks for any help!!!!

:)

hi petit

can you post a link to the fla or e-mail it to me?

Doesn't seem to be there. In any case the swf is no use because I understand what you're trying to do, more intersted in checking and testing your script because this shouldn't be too much of a problem.

I've got about 15 minutes before I leave TT for the day, so I'll try and muster a file. If I don't get back to you soon, I'm sure someone else will, if not I'll get back later.

Hi Dave,
Ta for the file... I've been using the <movie>._y and <movie>._x (etc) stuff, instead of setproperty(). I'll give setProperty a go, and let you know. =)

Ta!

Nope, no use! =)

I've chucked the .fla file onto my geociteis account, at:
(so you should be able to get it from there!)

It's still under a lot of development so please ignore the fact that some of the functions are a bit messy and that the graphics are cronic at the moment. =)

*grins*

p.s. thanks for you help, btw. =)
p.p.s. You need to hit either up / doww arrow to load the movies initally. Then hit it again to correct the loading problem...
