Created a two color flyer in Pagemaker. It is a target(in red) and wording laid over the top (in black) and a dart (white outlined in black) laid over the target also. The dart is a scanned drawing. The problem is I am needing the words and the dart knocked out on the red target in order to have it printed with color separations. I have not been able to get the text or the dart to knock out. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

The type should be no problem just select the type by dragging over it withthe type too selected then select Paper as the text color.

As for the dart make sure it is saved a a BMP file, a one color true BMP file not RGB or Grey Scale.

The Image will appear without a background and can be colored anything you like in PageMaker in you case the same as the type "Paper".

Whoops missed the part about the black outline around the white dart.

If the shape is simple do the BMP thing and use the polygon tool to create a white "Paper colored" shape that can be trapped behind the dart.

Just place the dart, and then zoom in and use the tool to click around the outline when you are done select the dart and move it to the format. Once it looks good select both the dart and the fill shape and group them.

If you have Photoshop you can also create a clipping path that will make the background around the dart transparent.

Boy my typing really sucks tonight, isn't there a way to edit these things.

That's "move it to the front".

Nohjekim,

I'll second the suggestion that there should be some way to edit your posts. I know I don't type well and often let a typo slip by my eyeball editing.

I have used some forums that allow editing for 30 minutes through the use of an edit button.
