I am using an EPSON Stylus Photo 1280 printer. When I try to print any Illustrator file that containts special effects(glow, drop shadow, etc.) on a colored background, in my case red, there is a box around the effect a couple shades lighter than the background color. It is more visible under the "Quality" setting than the "Speed" setting. I have played with multiple settings to try and correct this problem, but no luck. I even emailed EPSON and they said because this was only happening in one program, the program itself was probably at fault. Please help.

Have you tried making a pdf and printing that to see if it is the printer or not???
Is your printer calibrated and your screen and are you running the same profiles on you printer as you are on Illustrator???
