Installed Fedora core 3 to ibm netfinity 5500 8660-6SX (controllers ServeRAID II--
onboard, ServeRAID Mx4--pci slot6)
problem is : Won't boot/start linux
what's weird.. system works OK with RedHat 8.0... but not with Fedora3..
Does fedora have much too new drivers and stuff in it ?!!
Help needed asap!

errors msgs on boot phase :

ips 0000:00:06.0: Reset request - Flushed cache
scsi: Device offlined - not ready after error recovery : host 1 channel 0 id 0 lun 0

ips 0000:00:06.0: Reset request - Flushed cache
scsi: Device offlined - not ready after error recovery : host 1 channel 0 id 1 lun 0

ips 0000:00:06.0: Reset request - Flushed cache

ips 0000:00:06.0: Reset request - Flushed cache
scsi: Device offlined - not ready after error recovery : host 1 channel 0 id 3 lun 0

these messges comes til id is 15.
after this it changes to check the other scsi controller
with same ips errors..

after these ips errors comes the following error msgs...

mount: error 6 mounting ext3
mount: error 2 mounting none
switching to newroot
switchroot: mount failed : 22
umount /initrd/dev failed : 2
Kernel panic - not syncing
Attempted to kill init!

and finally it freezes, won't recover from this anymore,
have to reset the system..

What could be the problem?

Already done:
-SCSI ServeRAID BIOS; FIRMWARE; DEVICE DRIVERS updated
-Removed and defined logical volumes again
-Synchronized logical volumes with IBM ServeRAID Manager

I've set up the arrays by using IBM ServeRAID Manager program (IBM ServeRAID Support CD).

System got 5 disks as follows:

2 x 9GB SCSI HOTSWAP disks --> set up as logical volume 1, Array A, RAID level 1

3 x 35GB SCSI HOTSWAP disks --> set up as logical volume 2, Array B, RAID level 5

BIOS version 7.00.14
FIRMWARE version 7.00.14
DEVICE DRV version 7.00.14
--updated with IBM ServeRAID support CD.
