Hi Guys,

Could really use some advice, I am currently struggling with a problem with one of the telephones in my office.

I have just started here and never used this system before so am a little bewildered to say the least :)

We switched all the power off in our building on Saturday and the telephone system was *supposed* to be on a different system so shouldn't have been affected by the power loss...however it had been plugged into the wrong power sockets so shutdown by accident.

everything came back up ok apart from one telephone, this telephone is an i2004w handset.

when powering up it reports "Server unreachable, restarting"

I have found a number of posts here with things to try and done them all, I have ensured that the ip address of the phone is correct and the netmask is ok, I can ping the phone from a laptop on the same range. I have plugged another phone into the same port on the nortel switch and that phone works ok.

I am trying to log into the PDX controller (SP?) but cannot find any documentation here as to what the username or password is. however I noticed that the putty window while waiting to log on is receiving an error from the phone.

JUN 07 14:47:31 RDP: Error Invalid packet type (0x9e). Communication problem with RUDP connection 0x22e94e4
JUN 07 14:47:31 RDP: Warning Check RUDP settings on device with IP 10.1.22.138

Can anyone lend some assistance?

Thanks

Kindest Regards
Jamie

Could happen to be a phone with the infamous DHCP boot issue - I had a several i2002 and i2004s with the issue where they would not boot properly 'every time'. Anyway, if it is the RUDP issue you can change settings on a phone by booting it again and when Nortel displays on the screen (few seconds after boot) you press the 4 keys below the display starting at the left and finish at the right of the display). For the DHCP boot issue I usually had to set it at Partial DHCP in order for it to boot - won't boot properly to Full DHCP.
