Problem with .htaccess and .htpasswd

Hi.

.htaccess:

AuthType Basic
AuthName "Service-Bereich"
require valid-user
AuthUserFile hp/usr/.htpasswd


.htpasswd:

john:test1
emma:test2

i use windows 2k

my root-directory for apache is c:/ApacheGroup/Apache/hp
my .htpasswd file is on c:/ApacheGroup/Apache/hp/usr/
my .htaccess file is on c:/ApacheGroup/Apache/hp/

but if i write my name and password in the access window
there is ever an error that i had the wrong password..

can someone help me

i really tried to try more .. have done that for more than 5 hours now .. and nothing works ..

Hi mate,

The path in the following line was wrong:

AuthUserFile hp/usr/.htpasswd
