I have a Magix with a group 799. One day it quit working (busy signal when you dial 799.) So...since I had been doing some station renumbering, I though - perhaps - I fumble-fingered something. Went to system renumber/single/group page, and did an inspect - there is 799 as a paging group. So I went to extensions/group page/enter number, put in 799 - and it waves me off, won't take it. Did a print of page groups and got an empty screen.

Tried renumbering 799 to something else and then back to 799 (which the system will let me do) and THEN back to extensions, group page, 799 - waved off again. For purposes of I need to get the paging back I have switched to group 798 but am wondering if anyone has any clues about why I am having this inconsistency - where it is in the dial plan as a page group but won't recognize it for programming. I also looked at the dial plan but found nothing that would conflict.

So I just answered my own ?? - I never knew 799 was held for all page - learn something new every day.

If the caller gets a busy signal when they use an intercom button and try to dial 799, what would be the problem - and possible resolution?

Could some other extension be tying up the page port or is the port out of service?

If it ain't broke, I haven't fixed it yet.

I don't think another station would be tying it up - how could I tell if it were out of service? Would a reboot help? Thanks - Diana

Man, my working in a C.O. is causing me to scramble and jumble my thoughts on the Partner and Magix systems. [purpleface]

If the sets have a button programed for System Page, try inspecting the button to make sure it is, indeed group 790.

If it ain't broke, I haven't fixed it yet.

Start with a print of your dial plan. What is the number for TPZ #7 ? 799? Something else?

799 is the all page group, you can not add or remove extensions from it, and on Magix R2.2 and above, you can add up to 2 loudspeaker paging ports to the group. You can renumber it to something else, and if you do, you can renumber one of the other paging groups to 799.

Regular paging groups 1-6 (default 793-798) can have up to 10 extensions plus the loudspeaker paging port in them.

Strike #2 for me. I typed 790 as opposed to 799. [cry]

If it ain't broke, I haven't fixed it yet.
