problem with ftp wu-2.6.2-5

hi,

when i try to connect with ftp , i attend a few second ( 60 second ) first active a connection..

oslevel redhat 8.0
ftp server wu-2.6.2-5

Is possible to deactive this timeout or there is another reason ?

Which control I can do for resolve this problem?

Sounds like a DNS issue, the FTP server tries a DNS lookup which eventually times out after 60 secs. Make sure the server has access to a DNS server to do the lookups, else try defining host names in the /etc/hosts file.
