After checking the forums, I found there is no forum specifically for 3rd part ftp servers, so I post this problem here.
I'm running windows XP Pro, with IIS 5.0 as the web server, and Serve-U as the ftp server, (3rd party servers allow more than 1 domain).
The problem I'm having is that when I setup the ftp server to use passive mode, and allow a port range through the router, nobody can access the server using IE, they get 'Unable to establish a connection with the server', I also get the same message when I test it locally, but, when I disable passive mode, there's no problem accessing, but when a file is double clicked on, instead of downloading the file, a blank web page is shown with 'Error 404 Page not found'.
How can I use passive mode to allow IE users access and to download a file without drag and drop?
