Problem with footer not changing Print date

We created a document in Adobe In-Design and created a PDF from it, however when we create the footer in the PDF with a print date (DD/MM/YYYY) and save the document it doesn't retain the print date format and shows up as blank in the field yet the docuemnt retains the old last print date.

Any ideas>?

Because the Print Date will only change when printed.

You should look at using the Modification Date variable instead.

When you open the file and make a change and save it the modification date will change.

If you export without saving first then the modification date won't change...
