Hi there !
We have a problem with transforming word documents to pdf with the font Garamond (size 11). Upon opening the created pdf file we saw that the text looks like it was blurred.
How can we make an adjustment in distiller or acrobat itself (preferences) to get a real black garamond font.
The text looks great if we zoom to 400%, but that isn't the way we want to deliver the pdf file to our customers.
They have to open it, automatically go to 150% and from there it must be of good quality to read it.
Anyone ?

Three questions:

Does the font look blurry when you print a page?
Are you working on a notebook with a LCD screen?
Have you opened and viewed the PDF from another computer with a CRT monitor?

On crt monitor.
Print is fine, only on screen it seems to blur.
I.o.w. I want that font to look as sharp as any other I worked with.
I don't know if it is a problem of distiller

I guess the only other suggestion I could make is to adjust the conversion settings on the distiller printer's enty. Under 'Printing Preferences' on the Adobe PDF Settings tab, click the button labelled 'Edit Conversion Settings' and go to the Fonts tab. Check the box that says 'Embed all Fonts'.

Try recreating the pdf and see if that has any effect on the screen image.

If you haven't already, you could mess around with the other conversion settings like resolution, fast web view, etc. to determine and review the results.

Good Luck...
