Hi,

I am having a problem with an excel file that is linked to a main excel file. This main excel file has about 4 excel files linked to it. Three of these files are linking as normal. The fourth file although it appears to be linking does not come up with the "The workbook you opened contains automatic links to info in another workbook. Do you want to update the workbook........" message that should come up when opening linked files. This message has stopped coming up altogether. Any suggestions as to why this message has stopped appearing and is there any way of getting it back?

You can check the external links in a workbook by going to Edit then Links (Alt+E+K), this lists all links to other workbooks from here you can update the links and/or change them.

As to why its not giving you the updating option at the beginning, I believe this is due the file paths already being active. Are you open the other files first?
