Problem with Exchange 5.5 -> 2k

I'm upgrading our NT4/exch5.5 network to AD/exch2k.

Currently I have our exch5.5 server running on an NT4 bdc. I'm installing a new server with exch2k.

Exch2k is installed (joined into the 5.5 site) and running.. ADC has been setup and seems to be working ok.

My problem is I cant move the mailboxes between 5.5 and 2k. The option isnt there, and the 2k server doesnt show up in the 5.5 manager, and the 5.5 server doesnt show up in the 2k manager.

Any ideas as to whats gone wrong?

did you do a setup /forrestprep and setup /domainprep before you installed the exchange 2000?
