I have problem with setting up a custom error document. I am running "Apache/1.3.26 (Unix)" on a Solaris 8 box. I have a website running both http and https.

I have a .htaccess file protecting a directory. I use it for the ususal allow/deny type things. I have read that it is possible to put ErrorDocument directives in it also. But when I try that, I get "ErrorDocument not allowed here".

Any ideas?

Do you have

Override FileInfo

set for that directory?

Code:
ErrorDocument directive
Syntax: ErrorDocument error-code document
Context: server config, virtual host, directory, .htaccess
Status: core
Override: FileInfo
Compatibility: The directory and .htaccess contexts are only available in Apache 1.1 and later.

actually.......no.....missed that. I will try that and post back
