Hi,
We have p5 510 server with a dual port adapter card attached. It has an internal interface en0 which is working fine ,when I tried to configure the same IP ( detached en0 temporarily )for en2 (dual port one) is was not working at all.I did check the microcode level of the card, it has latest level and the box has latest firmware level.Last week we tried with single port cards then it was working good.Does anybody have any ideas what might be the problem.

Thanks

Does it work with a different I.P

You can set two I.P's on the same NIC if that helps

When you say not working...

Did ifconfig display it? Could you ping the IP but no external addresses? What did lsattr -El en2 show?

I you did a detach on the first adapter your default route automatically gets removed from the routing table. When you started up the new adapter did you check to make sure you default route was added back into your routing table? If not you just need to manually add it in there with the route command.
