Hello
I have strange problem with my DHCP server. We have two DHCP server say DH1 and DH2
We have set up superscopes in our DHCP server.Although it was not required but somehow been setup by my ex server administrator. The superscope had scopes both from our data VLAn and Voice VLan.
We experienced some issue in DHCP lease assignment to the Win XP clients. The cleint was getting APIPA address scheme and not DHCP issued ip address.
The DHCP showed that lease has been given for those client MAC address and there are sufficient address scopes available to lease.
When i removed those superscopes from my DH1 and DH2 servers the problem of lease assignment was resolved.
The problem is when I remove superscopes from the DHCP server they reappear when the DHCP service is restarted on the server or when server is restarted.
This happens on our both DH1 nad DH2 server when the DHCP service is restarted on any one of those.
The DHCP server is running Windows 2003 server.
Kindly help as I cant understand the reason for this....
