Hi,

My control key keeps opening a new 'Windows Internet Explorer' window everytime I try to make a selection. Example: I need to pick 3 cities out of eight, so I can't use shift key, because they're not in a row. I'm just hoping someone can give an idea what to check????. I have Win XP Home.

Thanks,
Alex

check control-panel, "input-help" (might be named accessibility, donno the english label, im german), under tab keyboard disable the snap in feature

The shortcut key for a new window in IE is ctrl+n, so, maybe your N key is stuck down. Try with another keyboard and let me know how that works out. Also, if you have a USB keyboard, try another USB port as that one may be receiving bad signals.

If you don't have another keyboard, try the On-screen Keyboard via Windows Key + U.

Also try Safe Mode With Networking and see if you have the same fault.
