Hi All.

I am trying to set up IIS 5.1 in Win XP and I'm finding a number of problems. The first is that I cannot seem to find much documentation on how to set it up. I would really appreciate any suggestions on finding such instructions.

The second is that when I seem to find the instructions, and manage to follow, I hit a dead end. Case in point is the documentation found in:

I was trying to follow the steps to create a new site but when asked to “Right-click over the Internet Information Services and select New, then Web Site from the pop-up menu” I find that this option is not available. All I am given is an option to create a new virtual directory.

I hope that someone would shed some light on this one.

While I’m at it, I have another two questions.

- Is it worth setting up my server with Win XP Pro, or should I go for Win 2000 ?

- What advantages does IIS offer over Apache?

I thank you in anticipation

John

XP Pro and Win 2k Pro only allow 1 website to be created and have a limitation of 10 concurrent connection.

To create multiple websites you will need to be running the server version
