I have an A7N8x deluxe version 1.04 and recently bought a mobile AMD Athlon 2800+ XP-M. My motherboard does not detect the CPU type so right now its running at about 1664.15mhz. I have the fsb running at 133, the multiplier at 12.5 (highest the motherboard will allow me) and the voltage at 1.65. I read that the multiplier should be 16x so will I not be able to run it at the full 2133mhz capacity? Would a bios update allow me further multiplier options? Any ideas on how to fix this?

Thanks for your help,

P.S. I accidentally posted this under the wrong thread minutes ago, (I know how that upsets some people)

Go to the ASUS website ( and check out the BIOS's for the A7N8x motherboard. You will be able to compare your BIOS version number with the latest issued by ASUS, and they usually give a brief description of the update.

The XP-M is a mobile processor, desgined for use in laptops. Because of this many desktop mainboards will not support them. Are you positive that your motherboard supports this chip?
