Problem with ARCserve 9 Exchange Agent

Hi all,

I am having problems with the configuration of ARCserve 9 Exchange agent.

The server on which the agent is installed is my exchange 2000 server (SP3) and Windows 2000 with SP4. No mail client is installed, but the Exchange 2000 Resource kit. Also, the backup user is member of the administrator, backup operators and domain users (prerequisites acc. to handbook). Exchange Control is delegated.

Whenever i log on to the exchange server with my backup service account and configure the exchange agent, at the end the following error message is being displayed: Failed to configure your server.

We have to backup-account (because we have two domains) with different aliases: DDSRV_Backup and BSRV_Backup.

Any hints as to why i cannot configure the agent?

This problem is solved. It turned out that the service account had bogus e-mail address. After deleting the exchange account and recreating it, configuration of the Exchange Agent worked.
