I'm using PS 5.5. There is no response to mouse clicks while I'm holding down ALT, eg when trying to use the clone tool. It doesn't seem to be a problem with the ALT key itself, it works fine by itself and in key combinations, just not with the mouse. It used to work OK, I've made a few hardware changes but I can't pinpoint when this problem arose.

Has anyone heard of this problem before?

Here's a wild guess. Make sure you are in the clone stamp and not on the texture stamp. Hope it helps!

Hi SimonO,

Seems we are in het same boat... I'm having this problem on 2 separate computers running 2 different Operating systems. The strange thing is that the help context (below) changes to whatever it needs to be when the alt-key is depressed but that's basically all it does !
With the zooming tool for example, as soon as ALT is depressed, the help context changes to "Zoom out" and one of them changes the + cursor into a - (the other one doesn't) but clicking the mouse does not do anything at all. I am not annoyed by a non working zooming function as there are other ways to do this BUT I am very frustrated about not being able to set anchor points for cloning, not being able to make new corners in paths etc etc.
I am desperate as I tried anything possible.
Have you gotten any further since Jan 16 ???

Found It !
Do you use Gurunet ?
If you do, remove it from systray and your Photoshop will work. It happens to be Gurunet's hotkey ...

PG.
