I have a customer with a problem I've not seen before. He installed 7.0.5 after downloading from Adobe website. The program installed, and he printed some sort of certificate. The next time he tried to open it after printing, Windows XP gave him the message that a problem was encountered in opening the program, and it offered to send the error message to Microsoft. Microsoft site says the problem is with Acrobat Reader but no fix is known. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling to no avail, and the program will not open in safe mode either. I've done a system file check, and checked for viruses and spyware. It's a business computer and he's leary of doing a repair, and doesn't want to reload as this is the only problem he's having. I was able to install Reader 6.0, and it works. Any suggestions?

Did your uninstall work?? If so, just use 6.0.

I assume that your reference to reinstall was for 7.0.5.

Back this guy up, then you can safely trouble shoot the problem. Is SP2 installed? On a Domain network? Any GPO's that might interfere? etc.
