We're running a complete Novell 4.xx network and client computers are equipped with Win95/98. When they are logging onto the network, an error message "No route to the server could be found" appears. On the Novell Knowledgebase we've found a solution: swap out the hub and it'll be fine. The main problem is that we don't exactly understand what "to swap out" means. We've tried to unplug the hub and restart it, but nothing happened (i.e. it didn't get better). Could anyone help us? Thanks a lot.

I've seen the same TID that you are looking at. One question, on your hub is your colisions light on solid? If it is not, then this TID does not apply to you. Also ensure the system is getting the correct frame type. Do you only have one hub, you could try to plug the system into another hub and see if it corrects the situation. If by chance you only have one hub and all workstations are receiving the same error message I would remove all connections from the hub and plug one station in at a time. If you receive the same error with the first station you plugged in, check another port. If you run into the same situation with all ports try to eliminate the hub and plug a system directly into the server using a cross-over cable (a laptop would be perfect for this test) If it works when the two systems are directly connected but not when connected through the hub looks like it's time to purchase another hub. If the same situation occurs when the two systems are directly connected, take a look at the NIC card in the server, that may be causing you a problem. You may also want to apply the latest service pack to the server if you haven't already. Let us know if you have any further questions....

there are just some end-users that need reBOOTing!!!!!

I had a similar thing with one of my servers. I had to reserve an IRQ for the network card (it was an an ISA card and was some time ago). Just thought I would let you know in case it is relevant.
