I run sendmail 8.11.0 was blok relaying bay default
wen i send email from my local machine by netscape or outlook i have this error
The message could not be sent because one of the recipients was rejected by the server. The rejected e-mail address was 'externe@anotherdomain'. Subject 'test', Account: , Server: 'myserverIPadress', Protocol: SMTP, Server Response: '550 5.7.1 <externe@anotherdomain>... Relaying denied. IP name lookup failed [localmachine]', Port: 25, Secure(SSL): No, Server Error: 550, Error Number: 0x800CCC79
think you for help

put the first couple octets of the network address and set it for relay. don't forget to make the access.db. this should work hopefully. cause it depends if you are trying to let local traffic use sendmail or users outside your network. in the latter case you would add the domain or the first few octets of the network to the access file.

What feeble is trying to say is:

edit the /etc/mail/access file

add an entry like

myclientcomputerip RELAY

Look at the other entries and just follow along.

Save the file and type:

makemap hash /etc/mail/access < /etc/mail/access

This should work.
