After editing the /etc/exports file, I tried to export a directory by

export /home/user

Then error msg:

.
.
.
do_ypcall: clnt_call: RPC: Unable to receive; errno = Connection refused

do_ypcall: clnt_call: RPC: Unable to receive; errno = Connection refused

do_ypcall: clnt_call: RPC: Unable to receive; errno = Connection refused

Invalid exporting option: /home/user/

do_ypcall: clnt_call: RPC: Unable to receive; errno = Connection refused

do_ypcall: clnt_call: RPC: Unable to receive; errno = Connection refused

do_ypcall: clnt_call: RPC: Unable to receive; errno = Connection refused

.
.
.

Before and after, there are more lines of "do_ypcall: clnt_call: RPC: Unable to receive; errno = Connection refused"

Indeed, when I logged in as root, I got 3 lines of this msg.

Anyone can help? Thanks!

I presume you mean exportfs, not export?

Have you started the nfs.server service first?

Do you use NIS?

Annihilannic.

It turns out to be a yp problem. I thought it was NFS. Please just ignore the post.
