Problem when Add Documents to New Book

I am following all the steps in Adobe Classroom in a Book (pages 412-413) for adding documents into a New Book, but when I click on Add it fails to add the indd files to the indb file and just gives me a Save As menu in the same directory as I was trying to add from. Can anyone help me with this?
