Problem w/ Pinnacle Micro Flex DVD Drive

Are the DVD's you are using burned or original?
First thing I would try is carefully blow out the drive with some compressed air for computer cleaning...you can get the cans almost anywhere now.
You may have some debris in the way of the "eye" that reads the media.
