I just upgraded to Access 2002/XP Office Developer/XP Professional OS. I have an Access Application that is solid from Access 97-2000, but after converting to Access2002, any embedded Word doc text boxes in my forms are not visible and causing the following error:
"A problem occurred while <AccessFileName> was communicating with the OLE server".
This same problem occurs with a fresh new 2002 db1.mdb also. I can reproduce the error at will by inserting a Word object from file and selecting a word.doc. This problem crashes Access after a few attempts to save/edit the embedded object. I've made sure that the Microsoft Word 10.0 Object Library is Referenced.
I'm positive this is a bug, but MS wants to charge me $245 to tell me so. Sorry NOT!
Anyone got any suggestions out there?
Thanks much,
Brian Esser
