problem w/drag-and-drop from SharePoint explorer view to Outlook 2007

This works fine with Outlook 2003, but in 2007 we try to drag-and-drop any document from a MOSS 2007 site in "explorer view" into the body of a new Outlook 2007 message and nothing happens. The cursor looks as though it should be copied over ok. Right-clicking on one of these documents and pasting into Outlook works fine. Now this is strange: I can drag-and-drop a document into the "Attached" box of the message without a problem (when HTML is the message format). Plain Text and Rich Text don't work at all except for the copy and paste method.

I'm just trying to figure out why this works in Outlook 2003 but not Outlook 2007. Any ideas?
