Hi all . i am using mac os x and trying to view the shared files and folder on the network. There is a icon called data below the screen once i click on it a window pops up and i do not see my shared folder from the network!! i am connected to the network via wireless airport stream.I have internt connection but can not view the shard folder. There is another mac computer in the same room and that one is working fine and i can view the shared folder. I am new to mac could any expert help me fix this problem and view the shared folder on the network on mac.Thanks

I've seen this problem;

What happens is the folder isn't a "real" folder, it's an "alias" to a different network share.

Connect to the share from a windows box, right click on the the folder that's giving you trouble and select the DFS tab. You should see the real network ID of the folder.

Use that information to the folder directly from your Mac.

Many thanks ObviousTroll for your reply.Once i get the network id of the folder how i can use that in mac os x. I be happy if u tell me the steps for that as i am one month old in working with mac osx .Thanks

The same way you connect to any other net work share; select "Connect to Server" in the finder menu, when the dialog appears, type in:

smb://host/folder/subfolder
